Beginner Looking for a Neutral Perspective on Bitcoin

Hey everyone,

I’ve been considering getting into Bitcoin for a while. I’ve spent months browsing this subreddit and reading about others’ experiences and reasons for confidence in Bitcoin. At the same time, the community seems very polarizing, which makes it hard for me to form my own opinion about whether Bitcoin will keep increasing in value.

Right now, I’d describe my perspective as neutral, as I see both pros and cons to its digital and decentralized nature. I'm pretty tired of seeing the diehard-type opinions and don't stand with either side: I think the “Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme” guys are often misinformed, while the “HODL to the moon” guys in this sub can come off as arrogant. Neither side has fully convinced me yet.

I’d really appreciate hearing some neutral perspectives on Bitcoin as an investment. What do you think are the realistic risks and benefits, and (assuming you're pro-bitcoin) why the benefits outweigh them? Thanks!
